US Army update for FOW has been completed

Here we are, 100 pts of Flames of war late war American Tank Company.

28 tanks.

Then I packed them away and found it quite impressive.

My OCD is a bit disturbed though... That is 2 tank companies, minus 1 tank per squad, so 3 tanks are missing per company, so 6 tanks short in total. I think I will have to get them done in a near futur so I could boast 2 complete tank companies. We call that Battallion level me think ;)


And the russians are coming too

July's WIP

Hello World!

I know I have not posted anything for quite a long time.

I may have dispersed myself on too many projects and work became a bit too invading once again...

I wanted to get on the Abrams and M113 as quickly as possible but sadly the local gaming store is having issues in providing model air paints.... The cobras were base coated with the basic Vallejo Viollet Brown that was diluted with vallejo airbrush thinner. It was my first try of the compressor and airbrushes I got a month or so ago and it did take me about 1 hour 20 minutes. But the paint was a major issue. Still it's a new tool and it was interesting to try.

Here comes the yanks!

I'm a bit late on their painting, but the wargamer's worse ennemies came in several times! (work and social life I believe they are called). Painted following this guide.

So here are 12 shermans for about 800 pts of flames of war :) Now I got the 4 main nations in 800 pts format (Soviet, German, British and Americans).

In 3 weeks from boxed and not assembled to painted and weathered!

I must admit that the cleaning and putting together did take a week on its own. and the last week was less intense due to resuming work.

I could have done it in two weeks if I did not have the gaming weekend with the friends and then went away a few days too.

However, if prior to my holidays I would have assembled them. I could have done those 21 tanks in a week O_O

February Challenge

G'day to you all!

So here is the start of my 2 weeks holidays and here is the challenge...

Yes 21 T34! The goal is to finish them all in less than 2 weeks and that will give me a nice 800 points of Late war Soviet Tankovy.

Here is how they will be painted.

black undercoat

russian green army painted base coat

dray brush highlights in luftwaffe camo green

German grey on tracks and metal on tools

Gloss varnish where the decals will be applied

Paint de details :
 - tools handle in  872 chocolate brown + highlights flat earth 983
 - Bags :  khaki 988 then brown ink then khaki highlights
 - canvas :  grey khaki 880 then brown ink then grey khaki highlights
 - rope Karak stone + brown shade watered down slightly
 - unbogging log 2 parts  870 Medium sea grey 1 part Khaki Grey
                            Pale sand 837 on pole tips 
                            then mix one part of each gloss varnish brown shade and black shade.

Cavalry brown on exausts

Spunge dabbing with german grey to chip the paint.

That is the basic idea, I might change it when I first try it fully on one set of vehicules.
